Fees: $220 for the whole season; or $110 in fall and winter each. Drop-in fee is $15 each, and you must attend over 50% of rehearsals in order to perform at the concert.
Suncoast Viols sessions are free, with a small drop-in donation for our facility rental.
Note - music can be either printed at home or I can provide a copy at no extra charge. There is an opportunity to order your own Baerenreiter copy of Bach if you so choose!
COAST MESSIAH ORCHESTRA'S BACHFEST 2024
Mondays 5:30-7:00 @ Music Makers in Davis Bay
Beginning September 18 and meeting weekly until the beginning of March, this ensemble will focus on performing Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No 3 and the Kyrie from Bach's Mass in B minor. In Feb 2024 there will be opportunities to attend the choir rehearsals to further solidify our ensemble skills. Please note there will be no rehearsals on Thanksgiving, Christmas Break (Dec 18- Jan 1) or Family Day.
We are planning for our concerts to be Friday 8 March 7:00 PM and Saturday 9 March 2:00 PM at St Hilda's. The concert will include the Coast Messiah Choir and some cello soloists!
This ensemble is for anyone interested in taking a deep dive into this glorious music. This ensemble is for YOU!
SUNCOAST VIOLS
Tuesdays 7:00 - 9:00pm @ Faith Lutheran Church in Davis BayA wonderful group of players meet weekly to explore this delicious instrument which flourished in the Renaissance and early Baroque. We have instruments to loan and are eager to teach you all about this instrument! Opportunities for occasional private lessons are also offered.
This event is drop-in, though committing to several consecutive weeks will help in learning the instrument.
